Food for Life, Soil Association

The Food for Life Award is a nationally recognised benchmark which guides settings through four areas of development to embed a good food culture: Food Quality, Food Leadership & Culture, Food Education and Community & Partnerships (with the addition of Parental Engagement for Early Years).

Why get involved?

Pupils in Food for Life schools are twice as likely to eat their five-a-day, and 45% of parents report eating more vegetables as a result of their child’s school being in the Food for Life programme.

Food for Life’s pioneering ‘whole setting approach’ means that a good food culture is embedded throughout the school, from the lunch times  to the classroom.

As such, the following guidance has been designed to help you to provide a healthy and nutritious packed lunch for your child to help give them the best chance possible.
